Habīb Todd Boerger spent much of his professional life leading projects and staff in human services before leaving the field to pursue spiritual studies. Habīb now holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Theology, specializing in Spirituality and Spiritual Formation in Christianity and Islam, from Claremont School of Theology, and a Master of Divinity in Spiritual Healing and Counseling from the University of Sufism, where he is now faculty. Additionally, Dr. Habīb has a Master of Arts degree from Texas State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kansas. He also holds a Certificate of Islamic Studies from Bayan Islamic Graduate School. Most recently, Dr. Habīb served as the program director and lead teacher for a spiritual formation program for ministers, chaplains, spiritual directors, therapists, and other spiritual seekers and explorers. For his continuing education and professional development, Dr. Habīb is currently enrolled in a spiritual guidance and education program focused on helping others in their spiritual walking.

Dr. Habīb’s spiritual journey has included a variety of experiences and contexts—from attending conservative Christian churches to studying at a liberal Christian school and multiple Islamic institutions—from drinking ayahuasca with a shaman in the Amazon to performing the hajj pilgrimage. He greatly appreciates diverse approaches to spiritual thought and practice, and he highly values applying shared wisdom from the many ways we experience spirituality. Dr. Habīb is particularly interested in the intersection of neuroscience and contemplative practice. Dr. Habīb is passionate about supporting others in their spiritual journeys, building interfaith bridges, and sharing spiritual practices in a way that is accessible to all. He has been teaching about spirituality and spiritual practices for 19 years.
